Apple AI features for upcoming iPhones: Tim Cook’s insights and potential rollouts
The Chief Executive Officer of Apple, Tim Cook, stated on Thursday afternoon during the company’s quarterly earnings call that the company is currently working on generative artificial intelligence software features that will be available to customers at th end of this year. Mark Gurman, a reporter for Bloomberg, recently stated that iOS 18 might be the “biggest” update in the history of the operating system. This idea is consistent with what Gurman has reported. It would appear that Cook’s hints, in which he made multiple references to generative artificial intelligence but never provided any specifics, prove that we are in for a significant release this autumn.
Tim Cook Teases Ongoing Investment in AI
Cook stated in his prepared remarks that the future is something that we will continue to invest in. We will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future. This includes artificial intelligence, which is an area in which we continue to devote a significant amount of time and effort.
“We are excited to share the details of our ongoing work in that space later this year,” Cook said. At the end of the call, Cook stated, “Let me just say that I think there is a huge opportunity for Apple with generative AI and with AI, without getting into many more details or getting ahead of myself.”
Cook did not provide a great deal of information when analysts attempted to press him for additional details. As you might say, our way of doing things has always been to work and then talk about work, said Cook. We have never been one to get ahead of ourselves. So we are also going to hold on to this. However, we are very excited about some things that we will be talking about later this year.

These features range from enhanced word processing to more sophisticated photo manipulation.
